Lebanese-born Tamara A. Bsaibes is a creative filmmaker and videographer based in Qatar. With her excellent eye for detail, Tamara has a deep passion for film and is knowledgeable of all stages of the filmmaking process. Much of her work is inspired by her surroundings and she has created a range of documentaries and short films as well as videos for the likes of VCUarts Qatar, Years of Culture and more.

Exploring two locations chosen for their impressive architectural features (Souq Waqif and Katara), Tamara first highlights the atmosphere of Souq Waqif, contrasting the old and the new within the same frame.

Beginning at dawn to make the most of the coolest part of the day, Tamara finds beauty in hidden corners and moments of everyday life around the souk. As the sun begins to rise, we quickly notice how the light and exposure of the image change.

She then travels to Katara, taking photographs from multiple angles and finding symmetry in the angles of the buildings. Tamara looks for lines in the architectural features and soft textures such as stone, taking photographs from multiple angles to find one that is just right.

As a filmmaker, she shares her unique perspective through her lens, documenting the way the exposure changes throughout the day depending on the sun or seeking elements that cast interesting shadows, such as the hanging tents providing shade at Katara.
