Held at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC) under the theme “Innovation & Sustainability: Qatar’s Path to 2030,” the events brought together over 200 exhibitors from around the world.

The spotlight on Argentina, honoured as this year’s Guest Country, marks a pivotal moment in strengthening bilateral trade, technology transfer, and sustainable collaboration between both countries.

A Year of Culture and Innovation

These seven startups represent the frontier of Argentinian innovation, from biotechnology to blockchain and space intelligence.

“Project Qatar allows us to show that culture is even deeper than museum exhibitions, art and music,” said Guillermo Nicolás, Ambassador of Argentina to Qatar. “This fair has given us the opportunity to show seven startups from Argentina with a lot of technological innovation. Taking part is very important not only for us but also for Qatar because I believe that it will create significant opportunities for both countries.”

Lucia Aragon, Corporate Affairs Head at Argentina’s Ministry of Economic Development, articulated the spirit behind Argentina’s involvement: “We are very proud to be participating here. This year and this event in particular, as we see it in Argentina, gives us much hope because we feel that through innovation and through technology, you can foster new opportunities and relationships between both countries.” She continued: “Here we have health tech startups which came to show the developments that we have created in Argentina to the world, and hopefully Qatar will benefit from all their knowledge.”

Here’s a closer look at the seven standout Argentinian companies driving this new wave of innovation:

SphereBio: Personalised Cancer Vaccines

SphereBio is revolutionising oncology with bespoke cancer vaccines. By using nanotechnology to create specific molecules from tumour biopsies, the startup is on a mission to reprogramme the immune system to detect and destroy cancer cells. As each person and indeed each cancer is different, these molecules carry the tumour’s specific signature to the immune system.

“What we offer is a new method to generate vaccines. We are starting with cancer because we need new technologies. Nearly 90% of therapies never reach the market,” said co-founder and CEO Julieta Porta, who is collaborating with Harvard Medical School and seeking new research partners in Qatar. "The world is asking for new innovations. Doctors are looking for new therapies, and we can bring hope to these patients.”

Proyecto Focus: Satellite Intelligence for Smart Cities

Proyecto Focus is building a constellation of microsatellites equipped with X-band SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) to monitor critical infrastructure and natural assets, from bridges and urban areas to maritime zones.

This high-resolution, low-cost monitoring can be key for urban planning, environmental safety, and disaster prevention, making it highly relevant to Qatar’s smart infrastructure goals laid out in the National Vision 2030. Proyecto Focus founder Alberto Pérez Cassinelli participated in Entrepreneurship for Impact: Argentina to Qatar, a dedicated session organised by Years of Culture.

NoBac: Safe Drinking Water for All

NoBac is tackling the global water crisis with low-tech, sustainable water filters that provide safe drinking water for families without access to mains supply. This is a huge problem not just in Latin America, but around the world.

“One in three people globally lack access to safe drinking water. We’ve created a simple, affordable filter after 15 years of work with families and communities,” shared Founder Gabriela Delgado. “It’s a very low-tech technology that doesn't need energy to function, and addresses one of the main issues in water treatment: bacteriological contamination.”

With future plans to manufacture in Qatar, NoBac is actively seeking support and strategic partnerships in the region.

AVaTAR MedTech: Heart Surgery Reimagined

AVaTAR is transforming cardiac surgery through devices that reconstruct heart valves using the patient’s own tissue. Especially impactful for children, this innovation grows with the body and avoids traditional prostheses.

Representing a safer, more affordable, and growth-adaptive solution, AVaTAR bridges biotech and human-centred design - exactly the kind of solution Qatar’s healthcare innovators are seeking to integrate. Founder Tomás Armendariz also spoke during the Entrepreneurship for Impact: Argentina to Qatar session.

Greempact: Data-Driven Energy Efficiency

Greempact uses AI and data science to optimise energy consumption, reduce costs, and lower carbon footprints. At Project Qatar, founder Nicolás Vizcaíno announced Greempact’s new AI agent to accelerate sustainability certifications like LEED and ISO 50001.

“We are in the middle of an AI revolution. This is the perfect moment to apply our tech in Qatar, complementing initiatives like Tarsheed, Qatar’s national programme for conservation and energy efficiency,” Vizcaíno said. “Technology should be the vehicle to unite economic growth and sustainability.” With a clear overlap in sustainability goals, Greempact is a natural partner for Qatar’s green transition.

Pala Blockchain: Tokenising Real Estate

Pala Blockchain’s flagship solution, Casa Token, enables developers to tokenise real-world assets like property or economic rights and store legal documents securely using blockchain. Each token represents a legal document validated by notaries, facilitating scalable and transparent investment. Founder Rodolfo Horacio Vigliano also took part in Entrepreneurship for Impact: Argentina to Qatar on the third day of Project Qatar, alongside the other seven businesses.

In a region with strong interest in digital transformation and secure legal frameworks, Pala’s platform offers a promising future for real estate innovation and energy contracts.

HAK Agency: Exporting Argentina’s Digital Talent

HAK is one of Argentina’s largest nationwide digital agencies, offering full-service solutions in marketing, audiovisual production, and media buying. Certified by Meta, Google, and TikTok, it already exports services to Paraguay, the US, and Spain.

With local teams across six provinces, HAK exemplifies the creative capacity Argentina is now offering to international partners, including Qatar’s booming creative economy.

Innovation Through Culture: A New Chapter in Qatar-Argentina Ties

Argentina’s participation in Project Qatar 2025 is strategically aligned with Qatar’s long-term goals for economic diversification, private sector development, and smart industry growth.

"We understand each other very well from Buenos Aires to Doha, and we are doing a lot of things in the cultural arena with more than 60 exhibitions planned during the year,” said Hernán Lombardi, Minister of Economic Development of Buenos Aires. “But there is even more under the umbrella of the 2025 Year of Culture. More companies, more jobs, more investment, from Qatar in Argentina and Argentina in Qatar, working together.”
