The Qatar Canada and Mexico 2026 Year of Culture sets the stage for all three countries to celebrate their rich traditions and contemporary cultures.
This edition connects Qatar’s heritage and forward-looking spirit with the artistic energy, festivals and creative scenes of Canada and Mexico, opening new pathways for collaboration and cultural dialogue. The three countries are also linked through football: Qatar as host of the 2022 FIFA World Cup™ and Canada and Mexico preparing to welcome the 2026 tournament.
Throughout 2026, the programme will feature exhibitions, performances, residencies, workshops and community projects that spark dialogue and foster lasting connections. Spanning the arts, design, gastronomy, film, sport, education and science, the Qatar, Canada and Mexico 2026 Year of Culture creates meaningful opportunities for the three nations to experience one another’s cultures in fresh and meaningful ways.

From the deeply rooted traditions of Oaxaca and Chiapas to the creative pulse of Mexico City and Guadalajara, its cultural expression resonates around the world.
