Today, falcons are the national bird of Qatar and falconry is considered a cultural art form. The birds, prized for their speed and agility, are trained to hunt small prey in the vast desert landscapes. The relationship between falconers and their birds is one of mutual trust and respect, with falcons treated with great care and reverence. In fact, these birds of prey are so highly regarded that they are issued passports and receive excellent veterinary care at the Souq Waqif Falcon Hospital.
