Harem Al Sultan Exhibition

QM Gallery, Katara

“Harem al Sultan: The Exhibition” at QM Gallery in Katara was a popular exhibition showcasing the original décor, costumes and accessories used during the phenomenal Turkish historical fiction television series Harem Al Sultan.

As part of the Qatar-Turkey 2015 Year of Culture, the exhibition offered visitors an immersive new perspective on the show’s most memorable characters, clothing and extravagant interiors.

First broadcast in 2011, Harem Al Sultan became a global phenomenon, airing in more than 54 countries and reaching more than 200 million viewers worldwide.

The show was based on the life of Ottoman Sultan Süleyman the Magnificent, the longest reigning Sultan of the Ottoman Empire, and his wife Hürrem Sultan.

The immersive multimedia exhibition included hyper- realistic statues of Sultan Süleyman the Magnificent, Ibrahim Pasha of Parga, Hürrem Sultan, Mahidevran Sultan, and Bali Bey, enabling visitors to get close to the artistry and craftsmanship that went into creating the iconic props and costumes that appeared throughout the series.

This special section of the “Magnificent Century–Exhibition of Magnificence” provided fans the opportunity to experience behind the scenes, with exquisite costumes and more than 300 accessories from the show in the grand setting of the Private Chamber of Sultan Suleiman, the Imperial Harem and Janissaries reception decors.
