The Children's Art Exhibition, Reesha: We Welcome the World to Qatar 2022™
Qatar National Library, in collaboration with Hamad Bin Khalifa University and as part of Qatar-MENASA 2022, is organising an art exhibition of children's works (Reesha) under the slogan “We welcome the world to Qatar 2022™”, with the aim of introducing the efforts of the State of Qatar in preparing for the World Cup through the stadiums it created to host this important global event, and to help children connect and keep pace with contemporary events using the arts and by consolidating the means of creative and cultural development.
The exhibition contains the outputs of the paintings drawn by the participating students, under the supervision of Qatari artist, Maryam Al Mulla. This is an open event; RSVP is not required. If you are 18 years old or above, you must show a green Ehteraz to attend an event at the Library.
We want this exhibition to be accessible to all. As such, an audio-descriptive guide, high-contrast raised images and descriptions of the paintings in Braille have been provided to enrich your visit, particularly for our guests with impaired vision. The audio description can be activated by scanning the QR codes with your phone at the respective stages of the exhibition. The reliefs of the paintings can be explored with your fingertips at each station.
We would like to extend our special thanks to students and faculty from the MA course in audiovisual translation at Hamad Bin Khalifa University, and members of Qatar’s blind community, who helped the library provide these accessibility features.
10th Anniversary
A decade goes by quickly when you’re greeting the world.
This is the 10th Year of Culture. So many new ideas and collaborations have been created over the past decade from Qatar-Japan in 2012 until now, when for the first time, we're partnering with an entire region - MENASA. Here’s to many more years of connecting with old friends and friends to be.
