Qatari Cultural Delegation Visits Indonesia

Jakarta, Indonesia

As part of the Qatar-Indonesia 2023 Year of Culture, a high-level cultural delegation from Qatar has travelled to Indonesia for a productive dialogue on culture and the creative economy. As the first country in Southeast Asia to take part in this meaningful exchange, this is an exciting milestone between Qatar and Indonesia.

The delegation from Qatar is led by His Excellency Dr. Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al-Kawari, Minister of State and President of Qatar National Library, accompanied by key representatives from Qatari cultural institutions. They were joined by Her Excellency Fawziya Edrees Salman Al-Sulaiti, Qatar’s Ambassador to the Republic of Indonesia.

The trip also included a visit to Istiqlal Mosque and Jakarta Cathedral.

Through these important conversations and an expansive programme of events taking place across Indonesia, the Years of Culture initiative strengthens bilateral relations, deepens cultural exchange and supports cultural development. Qatar-Indonesia 2023 celebrates the unique aspects of Qatari and Indonesian cultures and the long-term partnership between the two countries.
