The Rooted Nomad - MF Husain
Building on the legacy of the Qatar–India 2019 Year of Culture, QM Gallery Katara will present The Rooted Nomad: MF Husain, a unique immersive exhibition.
Conceptualised and produced by Kiran Nadar Museum of Art (KNMA) in collaboration with Qatar Museums, the immersive exhibition captures the life and art of one of India’s foremost Modernist painters, MF Husain (1913 - 2011).
The exhibition unfolds through projection mapping and digital animation developed by Visioni Srl, transforming Husain’s art into a living, multisensory encounter. This captivating immersive experience arrives in Doha after its premiere at the Magazzini Del Sale, Venice, during the 60th Venice Biennale 2024.
The idea of the Rooted Nomad may seem a paradox, yet it perfectly captures Husain’s singular disposition. The immersive explores the concept of 'yatra' (journey) as both a metaphor for art and civilisation, reflecting on the enduring relevance of Husain’s life and art.
