The German Pavilion at Doha International Book Fair

In 2017, Germany was the guest country of honour at the Doha International Book Fair, with a focus on German literature, authors and publishers.
At the invitation of the Ministry for Culture and Sport, the Qatar-Germany 2017 Year of Culture was represented at the Doha International Book Fair with a large exhibition booth.
One of the oldest and largest international book fairs in the region, The Doha International Book Fair is held each year with the participation of countries from around the world. There is an exciting programme of cultural events held alongside the main exhibition, including seminars, lectures, workshops and more.
A selection of German literature in translation was put together in collaboration with the Frankfurt Book Fair including a rich selection of children’s books, which were presented to Doha's keen readers.
After the fair, the books were donated to the Qatar National Library and the Dar al-Kutub of the Ministry so as to leave the collection available to the Doha public.
