National Flag of Canada Day Reception
As part of the Qatar Canada and Mexico 2026 Year of Culture, the Embassy of Canada to Qatar celebrated National Flag of Canada Day with a special reception in Doha.
Marking the anniversary of the first raising of the Maple Leaf in 1965, the occasion brought together esteemed guests and dignitaries, and around 400 members of the Canadian community.
His Excellency Karim Morcos, Ambassador of Canada to the State of Qatar, began the festivities with a tribute to the flag and emphasised the strong bilateral ties between both nations.
As part of the celebrations, the embassy also hosted a “Canada Village”, highlighting Canadian culture and food.
