Football Without Boundaries Exhibition

Katara Art Centre, Doha

Football Without Boundaries was an exhibition by Brazilian photographer Caio Vilela at Katara Art Centre held during the Qatar-Brazil 2014 Year of Culture.

The exhibition celebrated the universality of football, with photographs capturing the energy and dynamism of street football as it is enthusiastically played by young people from all backgrounds and nations.

Vilela’s work depicts the “beautiful game” around the world, showing the simple joys of football requiring only a ball, players and passion - a game that can be played in any space, not only the largest and most impressive stadiums.

“I keep my lens focused on registering the existing art in every moment of our daily lives,” said Caio Vilela. “I want my images to improve how all of us understand how millions of people live in each corner of the planet.”
