Doha Film Festival – Scoring the Story – Composer Spotlight

As part of the Qatar, Argentina and Chile 2025 Year of Culture, Doha Film Festival will host a special performance by the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra of cinematic scores by Gustavo Santaolalla.

Gustavo Santaolalla is an internationally acclaimed Argentinian composer, producer, and musician. A two-time Academy Award winner for ‘Brokeback Mountain’ (2006) and ‘Babel’ (2007), he has also received a Golden Globe, two BAFTAs, two Grammys, and 19 Latin Grammys.

The Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra promotes both Western and Arabic music, inspiring a love of the art form among people of all ages in Qatar and the Arab world.

Audiences will hear some of Santaolalla’s most beloved film compositions, including The Motorcycle Diaries and The Last of Us. Through the Philharmonic’s sweeping performance, the evening will pay tribute to the power of film music and the emotions it evokes.
