A Seat at the Table - Food & Feasting in the Islamic World

Presented by the Museum of Islamic Art in collaboration with the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), this exhibition celebrates the lasting legacy of the Years of Culture initiative through a rich exploration of culinary traditions across the Islamic world.

From the rise of Islam to the present day, the exhibition traces the evolution of food culture, the role of trade, and the refinement of dining etiquette. Featuring over 100 objects from the Museum of Islamic Art and other Qatar Museums collections, it is organised into five thematic sections, each paired with a video of a contemporary chef preparing a traditional dish.

The exhibition also includes contributions from the Qatar Photography Centre and local artists, offering a vibrant contemporary perspective.
