World-Renowned Qatari Composer Dana Al Fardan


Dana Al Fardan is a world-renowned female Qatari contemporary composer, singer and songwriter. Born and raised in Doha, her unique style blends classical and contemporary styles, weaving in sounds of her heritage with strong Arabic influences.

She is the Cultural Ambassador for the Qatari Philharmonic Orchestra and in 2017 became the official composer for Qatar Airways, creating the soundtrack for their international flights. As part of the Qatar-USA 2021 Year of Culture, she performed an exclusive preview of her album at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. 

This year, guests of the Qatar - MENASA 2022 Year of Culture Opening Ceremony enjoyed musical vignettes written and performed by Al Fardan and talented musicians. Speaking at the event, Al Fardan said: “The Qatar - MENASA 2022 Year of Culture has been an amazing opportunity for me to exercise my passion for music; I have been looking at all the different features that characterise the different cultures around the Middle East and bringing them together to create a unique sound.”
