Seagrass Tales, Dugong Trails
In collaboration with ExxonMobil Research Qatar, The National Museum of Qatar presented a special exhibition on dugongs during the Qatar-USA 2021 Year of Culture.

The Arabian Gulf is home to the world's second- largest population of these shy marine mammals, after Australia. Recently, the largest herds in the world, comprising between 600 to 700 dugongs, have been recorded in Qatar.
Holding both a special cultural and environmental significance in Qatar, the dugong was chosen as the official mascot of the National Museum of Qatar. Seagrass Tales, Dugong Trails was a special and wide-ranging exhibition on these gentle and mysterious creatures who have lived in Qatari waters for over 7,500 years.
