As part of the Qatar-USA 2021 Year of Culture, public art initiative JEDARIART brought Qatar-based artists to the USA to create meaningful mural art on the walls of major cities across the nation.
For the Portland edition of the JEDARIART initiative, Qatari artist Fatima Al Sharshani created a mural using the art form of traditional and modern calligraphy.
Painted in partnership with the Portland Street Art Alliance (PSAA), Al-Sharshani’s finished piece “The Never Ending You” is an abstract piece that merges Arabic letters into a shape of a circle, representing continuity and infinity.
