JEDARIART - Jersey City

Jersey City, USA

As part of the JEDARIART art initiative during the Qatar-USA 2021 Year of Culture, artist Nada Khozestani visited Jersey City, New Jersey, to paint a mural based on her own artwork utilising abstract design and cultural depictions of women.

A mural depicting a man and a woman wearing traditional Qatari headwear painted in bright colours against a green background.
Artist Nada Khozestani paints a mural with a can of spray paint from a cherry picker during JEDARIART Jersey City.

The artist’s mural titled “Side by Side” was inspired by her deep love and fascination for Qatari culture and the vast range of saturated colours found in daily life and various elements seen in nature.

The work of art represents two opposites standing side by side in harmony, with both the Yin (feminine) and the Yang (masculine) creating balance.
