Pearls - Treasures From The Seas and The Rivers Exhibition

The Treasures from the Seas and the Rivers exhibition was presented in Moscow during the Qatar-Russia 2018 Year of Culture.
The exhibition showcased over 100 pieces of jewellery and other examples of pearl craftsmanship made from freshwater pearls born in Central Asia, with 50 artefacts that had never been shown before.
Among other masterpieces on show at the State Historical Museum, visitors admired a spectacular tiara worn by Archduchess Marie Valerie of Austria and beautiful treasures from other European monarchies.
Designed to introduce audiences to the history and transformative impact of the pearl industry on Qatar and the world, the exhibition chronicled pearl fishing in Qatar, providing an insight into the ancient methods and techniques used by pearl divers and an overview of the pearl trade in the Gulf.
