Flag Plaza Inauguration

Flag Plaza, Doha

On 4th October,  a ceremony will be held to mark the inauguration of Flag Plaza, a new community space in Doha, initiated by Years of Culture in celebration of our 10-year anniversary. 

119 flags, representing the countries with embassies in Qatar, will be raised to represent friendship and understanding between nations and their people during the year of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™.

The Qatar Armed Forces Band Regiment, a musical unit of the national Armed Forces will perform  at the ceremony, followed by the raising of the flags, beginning with the Qatari flag.

10th Anniversary

A decade goes by quickly when you’re greeting the world.

This is the 10th Year of Culture. So many new ideas and collaborations have been created over the past decade from Qatar-Japan in 2012 until now, when for the first time, we're partnering with an entire region - MENASA. Here’s to many more years of connecting with old friends and friends to be.
