Celebrating the National Day of Yemen

The embassy of the Republic of Yemen in Doha will host a celebration for the National Day of Yemen, or Unity Day (commemorating the unification of North Yemen and South Yemen, which took place on this date in 1990).  Image taken of Raymah Governorate, Yemen by Photographer Moudhi Alhajri.

Cultural Exchange Programs

Members of the public are invited to enjoy a musical programme featuring Al-Samra Al-Shabwania - a mix of performing arts including an ensemble of musicians, poetry, singing and folk dance. A cocktail of Yemeni folk songs will be performed by male and female singers from the Yemeni community, calling for the unity of Yemen. The event will also feature Yemeni men and women’s fashion shows, showcasing traditional wear from different regions of the country. An exhibition of drawings for children, by a group of talented Yemeni children from the local community will be displayed in the waiting area before the show.

This is the 10th Year of Culture. So many new ideas and collaborations have been created over the past decade from Qatar-Japan in 2012 until now, when for the first time, we're partnering with an entire region - MENASA. Here’s to many more years of connecting with old friends and friends to be.
