Volunteer Trip from Qatar to Indonesia with ROTA
Years of Culture have partnered with the Education Above All Foundation (EAA) and Reach Out to Asia (ROTA) programme to support a special volunteer trip from Qatar to Pontianak, West Kalimantan in Indonesia.
As part of the Qatar-Indonesia 2023 Year of Culture, a group of 24 dedicated young adults from the University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) and the Qatar Academy for Science and Technology (QAST) will travel to Indonesia to participate in a cross-cultural volunteer programme.
The volunteers from Qatar will meet with Indonesian students from Sui Ambawang High School and offer workshops about culture, technology and communication, to enhance cultural ties and collaboration between Qatar and Indonesia.
“During the trip, students from Qatar and Indonesia will have the opportunity to exchange and learn from each other. It will be a chance to understand different perspectives, appreciate diverse cultures, and build strong connections between our communities.” - Eman Al Shatshani, student volunteer from the University of Doha for Science and Technology.
The service trip will feature a packed itinerary of activities, where the volunteers will also learn a great deal about Indonesia's rich culture, from music and the arts to cuisine.
