Dialogue of Paper Exhibition in Jakarta
As part of the Qatar-Indonesia 2023 Year of Culture, renowned Qatari artist Yousef Ahmad has collaborated with Indonesian artist Widi Pangestu Sugiono to create a series of artworks for the annual Dialogue of Paper exhibition.
The artists participated in a creative exchange earlier this year, blending their unique styles to develop a series of handmade paper pieces. The exhibition will open in Jakarta at the Emiria Soenassa Gallery at the Ismail Marzuki Park arts, cultural, and science centre in Jakarta, before being shown in Qatar next year. The exhibition has been curated by Dr. Aisha Abdulla Hamad Al Misnad.
The Dialogue of Paper exchange began in 2022, to mark the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Qatar and Japan with a collaboration between Yousef Ahmad and prominent Japanese artist Hayaki Nishigaki.
