As part of the Qatar-France Year of Culture 2020, Qatar Museums highlights Ghada Al Khater, a Qatari artist and Virginia Commonwealth University graduate in Fine Arts and Graphic Design. She was chosen to be a Resident at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris in 2014.

Ghada Al Khater’s approach combines art and understanding of our society. From drawing to creating digital light installations, this multidisciplinary artist cultivates numerous artistic projects.

For Nuit Blanche, the artist collaborates with Bonjour Lab, a French creative digital studio, to create an interactive piece. The installation offers a rediscovery and reimagination of the Persian carpet. Inspired by Qatari fauna and flora, as well as traditional patterns, the rug comes to life using new animation technologies.

Nature and heritage are at the heart of this unique and unprecedented creation!
